MATCH REPORT
POINT SECURED BUT WIN SLIPS AWAY
By Ian Pugh

Coleshill Town returned from their trip to Mickleover with a hard-earned point in a tight, evenly-contested affair that offered few clear-cut chances for either side.

It was the visitors who made the decisive breakthrough midway through the first half. On 14 minutes, Daniel Gyasi picked up possession and surged into the penalty area, where he was upended by a clumsy challenge. Up stepped Ben Usher-Shipway, who calmly sent the goalkeeper the wrong way from the spot to give Coleshill a 1–0 lead.

The Colemen came close to doubling their advantage after the interval. William Marshall saw his shot from inside the box parried, and the rebound fell invitingly to Joey Butlin, whose header beat the keeper but bounced agonisingly back off the post.

Coleshill looked comfortable defensively as the game entered its latter stages and appeared to be heading towards a well-earned clean sheet. However, with 17 minutes remaining, a Mickleover corner caused confusion in the six-yard box, and the ball was eventually headed home by Stuart Beavon to level the scores.

Despite pushing for a late winner, Coleshill were unable to carve out a decisive opening, and the spoils were shared. While it felt like two points dropped rather than one gained, this was another encouraging performance on the road that gives the squad a solid foundation to build on as they look to climb the table.

Next Up: Saturday 19 September – Bourne Town visit Pack Meadow for our next home fixture. Kick-off 3pm.
