CASTLE BROMWICH NEWS WROTE
Coleshill's Mixed Fortunes

With their away match at Oldbury snowed-off on New Years Day, Coleshill had to contend themselves with just two points from their two Christmas games against Racing Club Warwick.

Coleshill failed to maintain the initiative in the return encounter at Pack Meadow. Racing looked for more quicker and positive than 24 hours earlier and once again King was quickly in the action, making fine saves in the opening 10 minutes. In the 23rd minute Downing was left completely unmarked from a free-kick and he easily shot Racing ahead. Two scoring chances came Coleshill's way when Gary Shaw took on three defenders to force Hyland into a smart diving save and then a cross from Shaw was headed down by Nabbs to Holder, who sliced his shot wide. John Newey cleared what looked to be a certain Racing goal off the line, after King had been beaten. Near the interval Allcock brought Hyland into action with a good shot and seconds later saw a header well held by the keeper. Within a minute of the second half Racing produced the killing blow when Rainbow scored from 25 yards. Coleshill never really recovered, although Malcolm Phelps, Allcock and Shaw continued to try hard up front. This Saturday Coleshill receive Cinderford at Pack Meadow.
