MATCH REPORT
Someone once said "Football is a funny old game" and that was definately true for this game. For half an hour Coleshill played some terrific football and but for the visitors back line literally putting their bodies on the line could and should have been three or four up, then in virtualy their first attack, on a break away, Harvey Williams scored for St Neots. To be fair it was a quality move and finish and a rapid counter attack, but Coleshill were committing men forward and were caught short at the back. Two minutes later it could have been two nil as Thorpe hit the bar. Thorpe was a thorn in the home teams defence all game and on 48 minutes he challenged in the box for a crossed ball and went to ground, the referee amazingly pointed to the spot and Taverneir converted. Coleshill upped the intensity in search of a way back into the game and captain Taylor Carter-Byrne stepped out of defence and hit a cracking effort from 20 yards into the net in the 72nd minute, game on! The Saints defended well and there was no way through for Coleshill, then with just a few minutes to go Barnes hit a shot from just outside the box straight at keeper Cameron Belford. Wether the ball moved in the air we will never know but the ball slipped through Belford's hands and into the net, game over. If Coleshill play like this every game this season they will be ok! Just one of those days!
