MATCH REPORT
The Colemen and the Sphinx having been doing battle for many years and they are generally always tough, close games. This was no different! Both teams have had decent starts to the new season. Coleshill a 1-0 away win at Bourne and a narrow 2-1 defeat to Racing Club Warwick in the league but two fine wins over Nuneaton Town and Pershore Town in the F.A. Cup. Sphinx have also had two good wins in the F.A.Cup, Romulus and Dudley Town, but have also had two good wins in the league, Mickleover 2-0 and Sutton Coldfield Town 3-1, one of only three teams on maximum points.
A very close game with few clear cut chances and two good sides going toe to toe. There was nothing between the sides as the first half ended goalless but Coleshill took an early lead in the second half, Daniel Gyasi tapping home a goalmouth scramble on 48 minutes. It looked like Coleshill would hang on to a hard earned win but Sphinx made substitutions and pushed more men forward and it paid off in the 79th minute when Iddriss Fuseini had a shot blocked but when the ball returned to him he hit a dipping shot into the net. This leaves Sphinx unbeaten and in 4th place with seven points and Coleshill in 9th place with four points.

A VIEW FROM THE OTHER SIDE
A Match Report taken from the Coventry Observer.
Coventry Sphinx rescue point in draw with Coleshill Town to stay unbeaten.

IDDRISS Fuseini scored a late equaliser as Coventry Sphinx maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a 1-1 draw against Coleshill Town.

Fuseini levelled the game on 79 minutes after Daniel Gyasi put the visitors ahead early in the second period at the Cameron Slater Arena.

The result means Coventry sit fourth in the Northern Premier League Midlands table.

After a goalless first period, Coleshill broke the deadlock on 48 minutes as Gyasi found the net.

However, Sphinx rescued a point late on when Fuseini finished at the second attempt after Coleshill failed to clear their lines in the box.
