Mandey And Rees Down The Leaders
Coleshill Town boosted their play-off ambitions by toppling Northern Premier League Midlands leaders Carlton Town. The Warwickshire side responded to boss Harry Harris asking for a quick start and led through Bassit Mandey's strike inside the opening minute. Town doubled their lead after 14 minutes through Mason Rees as the league leaders were on the ropes. Carlton came fighting back and forced home goalkeeper Cameron Belford into several fine saves to deny deflected efforts. Rees could have sealed the points in the second half after running through one-on-one, but failed to take his opportunity. Carlton had one final push and Jason Law saw his 91st minute shot hit the back of the net, but they were unable to find an equaliser.
