THE DRAW CHAMPIONS

Coleshill Town are becoming the draw experts. For the third successive Midland Combination First Division game they shared the spoils when being held 1-1 by visitors Northfield on Saturday. Northfield took the lead shortly after half time and it was 20 minutes from the end when 18 year old Paul Cummisky levelled matters. Manager David Kite said: "Scoring chances are still being missed but I was pleased with the performance of John Allen, who returned to the side in midfield." The problem caused by Coleshill not running a second team has accounted for former Nuneaton Borough full back Gordon Ritchie leaving the club. Mr Kite said:" It is only natural that players want to play regularly and if I cannot include them in the first team then they tend to drift away".
It is understood that Coleshill's committee are in favour of fielding a second team next season but in the meantime manager Kite must try to keep at least a 15 strong squad together. A newcomer to Pack Meadow this week is 18 year old defender Martin McGreevy from Bedworth and he will make his debut at Chipping Norton next Saturday, taking the place of Colin Sarson who has been selected to play for the Birmingham County F.A. representative side.
The Coleshill Team will be selected from the following: Goulden, McGreevy, Burrows, Montague N, Hartry, Casey, Allen, Colvin, Hardie, Cummisky, Upton, Montague P, Voicey, Conway and Mathews.
Training lights are to be installed at the Coleshill ground and the club has also acquired the use of a local school gymnasium which means that a full schedule of winter training is assured.
