Coleshill Town were eager to get back into a winning vein at their Pack Meadow ground and in the 20th minute they almost went in front. Cash, having been played through by Brady had a shot from the edge of their area well saved by the keeper. Coleshill took the lead three minutes later when Cash had a 20 yard effort rebound from the bar and Jones, following up scored with a diving header. Knowle who had been prolific scorers in their recent matches, came more into the game but in the 35th minute Coleshill almost went further in front when Cash had a close range header brilliantly saved by the diving keeper.

SUNDAY MERCURY WROTE
A goal midway through the first half by Jones gave Ronnie Mason, a former Knowle manager, extra cause for celebration. Coleshill created an opportunity in the 20th minute when Cash played clear by Brady advanced on goal before having a shot from the edge of the area well saved by the keeper. Coleshill went in front three minutes later when a 20 yard effort from Cash rebounded from the bar and Jones was on hand to score with a diving header. Knowle had Strange sent off in the 75th minute for dissent and though the visitors strove hard for an equaliser, the home defence remained resolute.
