TOWN ATTACK - BOROUGH GO TOP

This win by Solihull took them to the top of the Midland Combination First Division, thanks to two opportunist goals from Allcock. But the greatly improved Coleshill team gave them a hard fight and Town manager David Kite was not too downhearted by this defeat. Prior to the match Coleshill had opted to implement a 3-3-4 formation in an effort to be more positive in attack, but injuries to skipper Hardie and John Aston (Allen) forced them to shuffle the side around. Never the less Town did more attacking in this encounter than all the others put together. But Solihull took advantage of defensive errors after Nardiello had given the homesters a flying start with a goal in the first two minutes. In the opening stages Solihull were over run but they eventually dropped in a sweeper to counter Coleshill's early dominance and the goals from Allcock before half time boosted their confidence. During the second half it was Coleshill all the way with Solihull content to defend with nine men, although in spasmodic raids they managed to bring out the best in Coleshill's keeper Wright. Coleshill should have secured the point they really deserved but Casey fired wide from 10 yards with the goal at his mercy. This Saturday Coleshill travel to Cinderford in a Midland Combination Division One game.

COLESHILL CAVE IN

Coleshill' much shuffled side took the lead after just two minutes of their Midland Combination game against Solihull through Nardiallo. And for the next 15 minutes they kept up a constant bombardment of the Solihull goal, only for two defensive errors to let in Allcock for goals that gave Solihull a half time lead. Wright, in the Coleshill goal, had to make four excellent saves to prevent Solihull stretching that lead and then Coleshill lost a chance of a point when Casey blazed high and wide from just 10 yards out in the dying minutes.
