CASTLE BROMWICH NEWS WROTE
BURROWS LIFTS DISMAL TOWN

Central defender Harry Burrows starred for Coleshill and he was well supported by goalkeeper Colin Wright and midfielder Johnny Allen, but Town's manager David Kite described the team's overall performance as "dismal" as they slipped to a 2-1 home defeat at the hands of Paget Rangers. With striker Paul Montague injured, Coleshill lacked punch up front and they were definately weak on the left flank, which was frequently exposed by Paget, although it took them 68 minutes to exploit the weakness through Arnold, who finished off a three man move to hammer home the winner. This, after Townsend, on 21 mins, had put Paget in front from a Ward free kick and Conway had prodded in the equaliser on 54 mins, when the Paget keeper had failed to hold a cross from Allen. The substitution of a half fit Dawkins for Nigel Montague in the 75th minute added a new dimension. Town began to function on the left and but for Grey in the Paget goal could easily have drawn level. Not a happy day for Coleshill but a lesson to be learned. One more player forward to the exclusion of a defender might have won the game. At the moment manager Kite has a Jim Callaghan like "left flank" problem that with limited resources he has to solve quickly. This Saturday Coleshill visit Cinderford and a coach will leave Pack Meadow at 11.30am. The fare for supporters is £1 return. Mr Kite was hoping to sign a new striker this week but if unsuccessful and because of the injury to Paul Montague, he may try out goalkeeper Alan Goulden at centre forward, a position he played in when he was in South Africa. Another possibility could be the inclusion of Gary Moseley.
